The journal "Modern Science and Innovation" (hereinafter – the Journal) was founded in 2012 and is published in accordance with the federal legislation "On the Media", the Charter of the North Caucasus Federal University, and also in accordance with the Charter of the journal. The magazine is registered in the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Communications (Roskomnadzor).

The Journal is included in the List of peer-reviewed scientific publications in which the main scientific results of dissertations for the degree of candidate of science, for the degree of doctor of science should be published (List of peer-reviewed scientific publications of the Higher Attestation Commission) of December 29, 2015.
The main purpose of the journal is to publish the results of scientific research of domestic and foreign scientists with high theoretical and practical significance.
The journal may contain short reports, discussions, reviews, original articles, analytical reviews of scientific research.
Priority in publishing articles is given to authors who are actively working on preparing candidate and doctoral dissertations.
Articles of graduate students are accepted only with the recommendation of a supervisor and are published free of charge.
Articles of employees and teachers of NCFU are published for free.
Articles of third-party authors are accepted into the journal (after licensing and checking the article for anti-plagiarism) free of charge.
Articles submitted by the authors to the editorial office are subject to mandatory review by members of the editorial board of the journal.
